Address – information regarding the billing or the shipping address provided by the customer at the transaction moment.

E-mail address – the billing address may contain this piece of information. Its format must comprise the “@” symbol.

Void – the action taken cancel an authorization to prevent its settlement. The funds release timeframe depends on the card issuing bank.

Authorization – the verification of the balance available on the cardholder’s account to see if it covers the amount required for the specific good or service purchased. Typically, the authorization will result in the locking and reserving of the specific amount against the cardholder’s available funds. To complete the transaction, the authorization process must be followed by a settlement or debit.

Card issuing bank – financial institution authorized by Visa and Mastercard to issue bankcard used for online and offline transaction between the cardholder and the merchant.

Acquiring bank – financial institution authorized by Visa and Mastercard to accept bankcards as a form of payment for products and services and contracted by the merchant to collect the payments for these products and services and to deposit them in the its merchant account.

Authorization code – the code returned following a transaction request, for each authorized transaction.

CVV2/ CVC 2 code – consists of the last 3 on the back of the card. It is a security measure to prevent fraudulent transactions. As in the AVS procedure, for each submitted transaction, the code entered by the customer on the payment pge is compared against the one in the issuing bank database.

Transaction ID: each transaction is associated with an unique id number for a better and faster transaction management. Postal code (zipcode) – alphanumeric code which can be present in the billing and shipping address for an improved efficiency of the address location process.

Company – the company name on the billing or shiping address, provided at the transaction moment.

Credit (1) – the action taken to refund the charged amount back on the cardholder’s account, through a debit agains the merchant’s account. The credit can be either full or partial.

Credit (2) – the result of the credit action, i.e. the amount debited from the merchant account and transferred to the cardholder’s account. The credit can be paired or blind.

Paired credit – a credit associated with an original transaction (charge). The credit amount cannot exceed the original transaction amount. Blind credit – a credit not associated with an original transaction (charge).

Expiration date – printed on the card, it determines the validity period of the card . Once expired, the card is considered invalid and the transaction made through it are declined.

Time and date of settlement – indicates the exact moment the transaction was settled.

Debited – see “settled”.

Product description – consists of information on the type of product/ service purchased or attempted to be purchased by a customer through a bankcard transaction.

Gateway – consists of an interface integrated with a financial insitution or processor which allows bankcard transaction processing under specific security conditions.

Settle (debit) – action taken following an authorization, to debit the purchase amount from the cardholder’s account.

Settled – transaction status which indicates the corresponding debit on the cardholder’s account has already taken placed.

Currency – the currency for each transaction (eg, RON, USD, EUR) Name: piece of information from the billing and shipping address provided by the cardholder at the transaction moment.

Card number: the card number printed or embossed on the front of the card which is used in transactions. For security reasons, the card number will not be stored or displayed in the PlatiOnline system.

Customer name – customer name as it appears on the billing or shipping address, provided at the moment of the transaction.
